Mini Disc Troubleshooting Tips

If you received a Friends of Duke Chapel mini-disc in the mail, please read the following tips for viewing.

  1. Please be certain the disc in centered in the tray before closing.

  2. When the menu loads automatically, please select the option you'd like to view. If the menu does not load automatically, please navigate to Duke_Chapel disc through the explorer window (by double-clicking on My Computer) and open up the file "menu.exe"

  3. In order to view the slideshow, you will need to have a computer program installed that can view MPG files.

The following programs have this capability:

--Windows Media Player 11 (download here)
*Please note that after installing Windows Media Player, you may receive an error message regarding codecs, and/or not hear sound with the slideshow. To correct this error, you can download and install the K-Lite Codec pack for free (download site #1 | download site #2).

    --Real Player 11 (download here)

    --BS Player (download here)

  4. If after installing a program that can view MPGs, you still receive an error message when attempting to view the slideshow through the menu, you can navigate directly to the MPG file by navigating to Duke_Chapel disc through the explorer window (by double-clicking on My Computer) and opening up the file "Duke Chapel Slide Show.mpg"

  5. The menu is known not to work correctly in some Mac operating systems, but you can view the slideshow by navigating directly to the file "Duke Chapel Slide Show.mpg" on the disc itself.
