Agapé Campus Christian Fellowship

"Agapé" refers to the unconditional, self-sacrificing love of God for humanity. In response, ACCF is committed to living out the "Greatest Commandment" and the "Great Commission" of loving God and one another in practical, everyday terms. Students experience core-change within the contours of a dynamic, spiritual community. Come join us for our weekly large groups @ the Upper Marketplace on Thursdays at 7:30pm, and for our Sunday worship celebrations held at UNC. We are affiliated with the Agapé Harvest Church in Chapel Hill, NC.

Baptist Student Ministry at Duke University is Directed by the Baptist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School. It is an inclusive faith community... with a free and ecumenical spirit... and a strong commitment to social justice. This is an invitation to all students who seek a spiritual deepening alongside their academic life, joining a community which offers friendship, service projects, and opportunities for worship and reflection on the life of faith. Supported by a predominantly white congregation (Watts Street Baptist Church) and predominantly African American congregation (Union Baptist Church), this alliance addresses the need for racial reconciliation as well as other forms of social justice in the world.

Black Campus Ministries

The mission of Black Campus Ministries is to foster religious and spiritual direction and support to students, faculty, and staff of the Duke University community, being especially attentive to, but not exclusive to the diverse needs of persons of African descent. Two major components of BCM are the IMPACT Movement and United in Praise Choir. The IMPACT Movement is a nationwide ministry led by college students on fire for Christ. Our ministry is committed to making an impact through evangelism and discipleship. We have weekly Bible study, campus/community outreach, mission trips, and fellowship throughout the year. Our vision is to see the African American Community fulfill its destiny as a reflection of the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. Do you want to make an impact? We welcome you! United in Praise (UP) Gospel Choir is a diverse student group that professes the Christian faith through song. It is a music ministry founded and led by students and is one of the oldest student groups on the campus of Duke University. Come join us Friday evenings at the Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture as we fellowship and “send the praise UP”!

Duke Orthodox Christian Student Assoc.

DOCSA

As the only student group representing the second largest Christian communion in the world (the majority religion in Greece, Russia, and Eastern Europe with large communities in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas as well as the majority Christian community in the Middle East), DOCSA is a critical piece of the religious life community at Duke University. A minority-led Duke chapter of the national Orthodox Christian Fellowship, DOCSA brings together a multicultural group of Orthodox Christian students, undergraduate, graduate, and professional, for friendship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. The mission of DOCSA is to be a community where students can simultaneously critically explore and faithfully practice Orthodox Christian spirituality. Critical exploration includes questioning anything and everything; faithful practice includes a willingness to allow God to question us, and to heal us and to continually mold us into transparent vessels of His healing of the cosmos. Duke Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a non-denominational Christian Fellowship that strives to be a community of grace, truth and love where Duke Students can grow deeper in their relationships with Jesus. FCA endeavors to foster a loving and encouraging environment for fellow students to develop meaningful relationships with one another as they grow together in their faith. We meet weekly as a large group, offer Bible studies, and have fun social and athletic events interspersed throughout the year. Despite the name, you don't have to be an athlete to become involved in this fellowship. FCA is a group of athletes and non-athletes. Our weekly Large Group Meeting is at 7:30 Tuesday evenings in Blackwell Commons on East campus. Bible studies meet on Thursday nights and there is a weekly basketball outing at 4:30 on Fridays in Card Gym. Our mission is to glorify God on Duke's campus by: Praising and Experiencing Him through worship, encouraging one another through fellowship, sharing the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed, providing discipleship to teach and enable Christians to follow more closely the ways of Christ, and serving the community around us as Christ served us.

Jewish Life at Duke

Jewish Life at Duke is comprised of the Freeman Center and the Rubenstein-Silvers Hillel. The Freeman Center provides a home for Jewish life on campus while the Rubenstein-Silvers Hillel provides exciting and innovative programming throughout the Duke community. The combination works to foster and enrich Jewish life through social, educational, religious and cultural activities. Students have the opportunity to focus their interests and further their knowledge by participating in specific groups and activities such as Jewish Awareness Week, Duke Friends of Israel, Jewish Women’s Alliance, Graduate and Professional Students Association, Taglit-birthright Israel and Alternative Spring Break Uruguay. A pluralistic approach to Judaism assures that all Jews, regardless of denomination, feel welcome in the building and at programs. Events are open to members of the Duke community as well as the Durham and Chapel Hill Jewish community. All Jewish holidays are observed. Shabbat services are held on Friday nights during the school year and are followed by a kosher Shabbat dinner. Kosher dinners are served during the week at Henry’s Place in the Heyman Dining Hall at the Freeman Center and are available at other times by special arrangement.

Lutheran Campus Ministry

Duke Lutherans is a group of students – undergraduate, graduate, and professional – who hold the Gospel at the center of our lives. We gather weekly in worship, fellowship, prayer, study, and service. All of these activities equip us to grow as individuals and as the body of Christ, enabling us to reach out into the communities in which we live. It also keeps us grounded in God’s love for us as we struggle through all of the stresses of school. We invite you to join us at anytime and learn more about this community.

Navigators

The Navs at Duke is a network of friends. We explore the Bible honestly - asking our real questions - try to love our friends right where they are and, in general, pursue a faith that makes sense for all of life. Some of us are just beginning to explore the possibility of faith, others are seeking growth in our relationship with Jesus, but were all in it together.

Wesley Fellowship

United Methodist Campus Ministry

We envision the Duke University Wesley Fellowship as having three foci: fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth. By providing a safe, but challenging harbor, we can equip people to engage in ministry initiatives and enhance individual spiritual growth. When an individual grows spiritually, the community is strengthened and even greater ministry challenges can be met. No single aspect of what we do within the structure of Wesley would succeed independently of the other emphases. The interweaving of fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth bind the fabric of Wesley Fellowship. I invite you to visit and experience our community for yourself.
