Inaugural Recital of the Benjamin N. Duke Memorial Organ (Flentrop, 1976)

The first concert played on the organ was an informal preview for Duke University students on December 6, 1976. It consisted of all of the pieces on the dedication recital except a piece by Iain Hamilton commissioned for the occasion. The organ was first officially played at the Sunday-morning worship on Founders Day, December 12, 1976. The inaugural recital was played at 5:00 p.m. that same afternoon by Fenner Douglass, Professor of Music and University Organist. The program was as follows.
